The CWiid-remap project is designed to allow keys to be remapped for the wiimote without the need to disconnect and reconnect it. Currently, the only way to change key mappings is for one to write a separate configuration file, and continue to quit/restart wminput whenever needed. This is undesirable as that requires the wiimote to be reconnected each time the keymaps change.
The solution is to write a plugin/patch that will allow a new key configuration to be loaded into the currently running wminput through passing the new data to it.
The main aspect of dynamic key remapping is so that, for example, if one were to use the wiimote regularly, but then want to change the mappings for a program such as FCE Ultra when it starts, then change it back when the program ends. This plugin/patch will make that possible.
This patch/plugin is being designed to be compatible with CWiid 0.6.00 and greater.
No patch has been submitted to upstream as of yet.
